Activity Goal: To provide a refresher on foundational ID pharmacotherapy principles, especially for learners (students, residents, fellows) and early career practitioners. This webinar will be recorded, and we hope it can service as a supplemental tool for ID preceptors in the experiential setting.
Target Audience: Learners (students, residents, fellows) and pharmacists who want a refresher on key concepts related to infectious diseases pharmacotherapy.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe fundamental pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) concepts of antimicrobials and their practical application to patient care
- Review key concepts and principles on the bioavailability of oral beta-lactams
- Identify key principles of weight-based dosing antimicrobials in obesity
- Apply PK/PD, weight-based and obesity-specific dosing principles to patient-specific scenarios
