SIDP Announces Acute Care Stewardship Certificate Program for Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC)
SIDP is dedicated to our mission of advancing infectious diseases pharmacy and leading antimicrobial stewardship in order to optimize the care of patients. Since its launch in 2012 our Acute Care Antimicrobial Stewardship Certificate Program has supported this mission by providing comprehensive training to over 2,800 pharmacists, affording participants the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful antimicrobial stewards. However, as an organization, we understand that antimicrobial stewardship is a global effort, that training cannot be limited to those with sufficient means, and that the costs of such training programs can exacerbate inequities across the globe. It is in this spirit that we are excited to announce the newest addition to our Antimicrobial Stewardship Training Certificate Collection; The SIDP Acute Care Stewardship Certificate Program for Low- and Middle- Income Countries (LMIC) [link]. This certificate program will feature the same great content that has made the acute care program the most widely sought out training program throughout the country, but at a 50% discount for participants from LMIC. Over time we will adapt content as appropriate based on feedback from certificate recipients. It is SIDP’s most sincere hope that providing this content in a more affordable manner will allow clinicians across the globe the ability to access this content, develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful stewards, and ultimately optimize patient outcomes while limiting the development and spread of antimicrobial resistance.
SIDP is an association of pharmacists and allied healthcare professionals dedicated to promoting the appropriate use of antimicrobial agents. SIDP membership is comprised of 1,500 members in hospital, academic, industry, governmental organizations, and other practice settings across all 50 states and throughout the globe. The mission of SIDP is to advance infectious diseases pharmacy and lead antimicrobial stewardship in order to optimize the care of patients.
