SIDP is assisting the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America (SHEA) in identifying nominations for an associate editor for the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Healthcare Epidemiology (ASHE) journal.
SIDP is proposing the appointment of an SIDP member who is middle or advanced career for this position. ASHE focuses on practice-based, clinical research, including antimicrobial stewardship, prevention of healthcare-associated infections, and other areas of quality improvement affecting health systems, with the goal of improving healthcare safety. The associate editor, if appointed, should have clinical and research experience, specifically in this space.
SIDP will forward the name of the recommended candidate to the Editor-in-Chief (EIC) of ASHE for consideration. The EIC is responsible for appointment of the associate editor, the name of whom is then submitted to the SHEA Board of Directors to be ratified.
Interested members should submit a statement of interest, CV, and three blinded peer reviews by Friday, June 24, 2021. Blinded peer reviews should only contain the feedback sent and not the original manuscript; author and title names should be struck from submitted documents. The committee will evaluate candidates' publication record in peer-reviewed journals and peer review experience. The number of peer reviews completed and a list of journals by name for whom the candidate has reviewed papers in the last 2 years should be clearly available in either the CV or statement of interest.
SIDP, SHEA, and ASHE are committed to represent diverse interests and viewpoints. We encourage candidates to share any unique perspectives they have that would facilitate their role and expand the purview of ASHE.
Interested candidates should submit their application materials and any questions to the Chair of Publications and Podcasts committee, Rachel Britt, rabritt@utmb.edu.
