Membership Renewal Date
Membership Criteria for Full LMIC Membership
- Practice clinically or perform research in infectious diseases pharmacotherapy, antimicrobial stewardship, or review and management of antimicrobial therapy or outcomes within a healthcare entity for a minimum of 20% of the prospective member’s job duties
OR
- Be employed or engaged as a consultant with a pharmaceutical or diagnostic company, government agency, academic institution, or other organization with a focus on antimicrobial research and development, microbiology, antimicrobial stewardship, policy or other field related to infectious diseases pharmacotherapy for a minimum of 20% of the prospective member’s job duties
AND
- Completed a PGY2 infectious diseases residency, infectious diseases fellowship, or equivalent intensive post-graduate clinical and/or research training with a focus on infectious diseases
OR
OR
- Completed an intensive antimicrobial stewardship certificate course developed by an infectious diseases-specialty organization (e.g., SIDP, BSAC, MAD-ID)
OR
- Meet criteria outlined in #1 or #2 for at least three years after receipt of the prospective member’s highest educational degree
Application Requirements for LMIC Full Membership
An applicant for full membership must submit:
- A current curriculum vitae
AND
- A letter of reference from a colleague at the applicant's place of work OR from a national Ministry of Health or equivalent governmental body attesting to substantial professional activities in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy or research.
Individuals with BCIDP designation and/or those with lapsed memberships renewing at the same level do not need to submit a new letter of reference, but should submit a current CV
Membership Criteria for Associate LMIC Membership
- Any pharmacist or non-pharmacist not meeting the requirements for full membership, but with an interest in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy may participate as non-voting members of the Society
Application Requirements for Associate LMIC Membership
- A current curriculum vitae
AND
- A letter of reference from a fellow healthcare professional or mentor attesting to the applicant’s interest in the area of infectious diseases pharmacotherapy
Individuals with BCIDP designation and/or those with lapsed memberships renewing at the same level do not need to submit a new letter of reference, but should submit a current CV
