Job title: Clinical Pharmacist Specialist, Infectious Diseases

Location: Children’s Hospital of Michigan. Detroit, MI

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the antimicrobial stewardship activities at Children’s Hospital of Michigan (CHM)
  • Collaborate with infectious diseases (ID) providers during ID team rounds
  • Participate in the training of pharmacists, pharmacy residents, and pharmacy students
  • Participate in the training of pediatric residents and ID fellows
  • Develop and implement guidelines, protocols, and order sets for the use of antibiotics in pediatric patients
  • Participate in quality improvement projects in collaboration with pharmacy, ID, clinical microbiology, infection control, and quality
  • Individual or collaborative scholarly research activity is encouraged
  • Collaborate with infection control and participate in infection control/antimicrobial stewardship subcommittee meetings  at CHM
  • Ensure TJC, CMS and other AMS regulatory compliance
  • Serve as an active member of the Detroit Medical Center (DMC) antimicrobial stewardship committee

Required Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred

Completion of a post graduate year 1 (PGY1) pharmacy practice residency

Completion of a PGY2 residency or a 2-year fellowship in infectious diseases

Licensed to practice pharmacy in Michigan or eligible for licensure
