Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist

Brief Description: Our project Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist (WMS Med Band) performs advanced pharmaceutical consultative expertise for the Healthcare-Associated Infections and Antimicrobial Resistance (HAIAR) Section in the Office of Communicable Disease Epidemiology (OCDE). The Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) Pharmacist works closely with the AMS Physician Lead, AMS Coordinator, and the multi-drug resistant organism (MDRO) Medical Epidemiologist. The purpose of Department of Health-led AMS efforts is to ensure that Washington makes progress towards national goals for judicious use of antimicrobial agents in all healthcare settings.
The AMS Pharmacist will provide expertise and support to Washington pharmacists, clinicians, and facilities involved in AMS projects and to those demonstrating a need to advance stewardship programs. This position will consult with facility steward leaders about their programs, provide technical assistance to increase antibiotic use reporting, develop and guide data analyses and reports, and lead quality improvement projects. Duties may include AMS education, program evaluation, analyzing data, producing reports, and disseminating findings to appropriate stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited college of pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.).
- A valid Washington State license to practice pharmacy OR licensed in another state and able to obtain Washington State licensure within 90-days of hire date.
- AMS training/experience preferred
