Annual Report
Purpose:
The Annual Report Committee creates SIDP’s annual report, a comprehensive summary of the past year’s activities, achievements, and acknowledgments. This report highlights the efforts of our members, supporters, and partners and serves as documentation and a valuable reflection on the Society’s work and impact.
BCIDP
Purpose:
The Board Certified Infectious Diseases Pharmacist (BCIDP) committee develops educational activities on infectious diseases pharmacotherapy for pharmacists which meet the requirements of Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) standards for BCIDP recertification.
Fundraising & Industry Relations
Purpose:
The Fundraising & Industry Relations Committee leads SIDPs fundraising efforts for Programs, the Annual Business Meeting, Residency/Fellowship Awards, and Research Grants. The committee prioritizes ethical practices and ensures that sponsors are recognized appropriately and that all fundraising efforts are impactful.
Programs
Purpose:
The Programs Committee plans and organizes the events and activities for the SIDP Annual Business Meeting and represents SIDP on the IDWeekTM Planning Committee. The Programs Committee creates the schedule of events, selects educational content and speakers, develops fun activities such as trivia and the IDWeekTM Escape Room, and coordinates logistics to ensure an impactful and engaging event.
Membership
Purpose:
The Membership Committee spearheads recruitment and retention efforts for SIDP, focusing on expanding our community, including international members. This committee is dedicated to growing a vibrant and inclusive membership base.
Policy & Government Affairs
Purpose:
The Policy and Government Affairs (PGA) Committee is dedicated to keeping SIDP members informed about important policy issues and representing SIDP’s positions on proposed legislation. This committee actively monitors legislation related to infectious diseases pharmacotherapy and provides education and action recommendations to members.
Breakpoints
Purpose:
The Breakpoints Committee manages all aspects of Breakpoints:The SIDP Podcast. This includes developing, coordinating, and hosting timely and relevant episodes, securing funding through industry grants and other external partners, and maintaining the Breakpoints website. Breakpoints:The SIDP Podcast provides valuable and free educational content to discuss current literature, share information from infectious diseases meetings, advocate for optimal patient care, and lead antimicrobial stewardship efforts.
Publications
Purpose:
The Publications Committee oversees SIDP’s publications including our newsletter and partner collaborations. This committee facilitates content development, editorial needs, and distribution to expand to foster member engagement and expand SIDP’s reach.
Research
Purpose:
The Research Committee supports the Board in preparing and distributing SIDP’s research awards. This committee reviews award proposals, monitors mid-year progress, and provides recommendations to the Board on ongoing projects.
Social Media
Purpose:
The Social Media Committee manages SIDP’s social media presence and develops content and strategies to promote SIDP’s events and initiatives. This committee plays an important role in connecting people, building networks and community, advocacy, and providing educational content, all to advance SIDP’s strategic vision and goals.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
Purpose:
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee is focused on fostering an inclusive environment within the SIDP community. This committee works to improve the diversity in our field, ensuring greater representation of minorities within our membership, leadership, and profession.
Education
Purpose:
The Education Committee develops educational activities on infectious diseases pharmacotherapy for pharmacists and allied-health providers. This includes both live and on-demand ACPE-accredited webinars, journal clubs, and other professional resources such as educational YouTube videos and toolkits. The Education Committee also collaborates to identify and secure grants for educational sessions.
Guidelines
Purpose:
The Guidelines Committee oversees the endorsement of guidelines that will improve the safe and effective use of antimicrobials. This committee ensures that all guidelines SIDP collaborates on are unbiased and scientifically rigorous.
Inter-Organizational & Engagement
Purpose:
The Inter-Organizational and Engagement Committee fosters valuable partnerships between SIDP and other healthcare organizations. This committee seeks collaborations that advance SIDP’s mission and vision, creating opportunities for shared goals.
Nominations & Bylaws
Purpose:
The Nominations and Bylaws Committee ensures a fair and impartial election process by establishing a slate of officers and conducting elections in line with SIDP’s Bylaws. This committee also reviews the Bylaws annually, proposing updates to the Board as needed to keep the Society’s governance clear, effective, and up-to-date.
Public Outreach
Purpose:
The Public Outreach Committee leads initiatives to educate the public on the safe and effective use of antimicrobials. By developing partnerships and educational programs, especially those targeting underserved communities, this committee expands SIDP’s outreach to share important messages with a broader audience.
Recognitions
Purpose:
The Recognitions Committee supports the Board of Directors by reviewing and refining criteria for SIDP’s many awards, processing nominations, and providing award recommendations. This committee also explores additional ways to publicly recognize the achievements of SIDP members.
Stewardship
Purpose:
The Stewardship Committee develops and oversees SIDP’s Antimicrobial Stewardship certificate program. This committee develops content and resources to ensure enrollees develop a strong knowledge base and fundamentals to succeed in implementation of antimicrobial stewardship initiatives in various practice settings.
Strategic Planning
Purpose:
The Strategic Planning Committee collaborates with the Board to develop, monitor, and implement the Society’s strategic plan. This committee plays a vital role in guiding SIDP’s future by setting goals that align with the mission and vision of the Society.
Website
Purpose:
The Website Committee manages the SIDP website and establishes our online presence. This committee collaborates with all the SIDP committees and ensures our website provides professional and valuable resources for members, future members, other healthcare professionals, and the public.
