Infectious Diseases Pharmacists Day

The sixth annual Infectious Diseases (ID) Pharmacists Day will be Friday, May 22, 2026. This day recognizes the importance of ID pharmacists and the contributions they make to patient care. This year’s ID Pharmacists Day is extra special as we also celebrate 35 years of SIDP!

This year’s theme, “Beyond the Rx: ID Pharmacists as Educators and Advocates,” highlights the critical role ID pharmacists play far beyond the prescription. By educating patients and healthcare teams, mentoring students and trainees, and advocating for evidence-based care and public health initiatives, ID pharmacists advance antimicrobial stewardship and influence policies that improve outcomes at both the individual and community levels. This theme celebrates their impact as educators, advocates, and leaders in the fight against infectious diseases.

Join us on Instagram, Bluesky, or LinkedIn any time on Friday, May 22nd, to go “Beyond the Rx” and share impactful stories!  

    • Post how you or an ID pharmacist you know educates and advocates in their day to day work. For example, share a story, photo, mentorship moment, advocacy win, or educational impact. 
    • Use the hashtags #BeyondTheRx, #IDPharmacistsDay, and #SIDPAdvocacy, in your post and tag SIDP.
    • One post using the hashtag #BeyondTheRx will be chosen at random to win a prize!
