Description:

This fellowship program combines infectious disease clinical practice and research in a two-year program. The fellow is trained as a clinical practitioner in the Baylor St. Luke's Center for Antimicrobial Stewardship and Epidemiology (CASE) with patient care, monitoring, and research. The focus of the first year will be to develop the fellow’s clinical knowledge and antimicrobial stewardship expertise. The second year allows the fellow to focus on translational, clinical, and outcomes research.  Research is conducted in collaboration with expert faculty researchers from the University of Houston College of Pharmacy.   PGY1 residency and eligible for Texas licensure is required for this fellowship.

The University of Houston College of Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Practice and Translational Research is made up of 31 full-time faculty members.  The vision of the department is to be a leader in pharmacy and postgraduate education through excellence in translational, clinical and outcomes research.  We are currently screening for three postdoctoral fellowship programs with an emphasis in infectious diseases.  Opportunities to take graduate coursework, teach pharmacy students and residents (didactic and experiential), and travel to major international scientific meetings are incorporated into each of these three fellowship programs.
