Details: The Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a motivated individual to assume a clinical leadership position in infectious disease ambulatory care practice. The individual will work with an interdisciplinary team in a HIV specialty clinic to provide specialized pharmaceutical care, develop and apply medication use policies, precept residents and students, and participate in research activities. The individual will work closely with physicians to ensure timely medication initiation for patients newly diagnosed with HIV and lead a pre-exposure prophylaxis treatment program. The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist will also provide chronic disease state management for primary care disease states, such as hypertension and diabetes, for patients living with HIV. She/he will serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents of ASHP accredited PGY-1 and PGY-2 residency programs. Faculty appointments are available through affiliations with the University of Maryland College of Pharmacy, the University of Notre Dame of Maryland College of Pharmacy, and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A PharmD degree is required, PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency training (or equivalent experience) is required, and PGY2 Infectious Disease residency training with ambulatory care experience is preferred.
