SIDP Task Force on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Society of Infectious Diseases Pharmacists is committed to creating and sustaining an inclusive and welcoming society and improving the representation of minorities in our membership, leadership, and profession. In July 2020, we appointed the Task Force on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, to uplift the voices of minority members and to recommend actions that will better ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion across the Society.

Task Force Charges

The responsibilities of the task force are:

  • Advise SIDP Board of Directors on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion concerns for member relations and strategic planning. 
  • Evaluate member demographics and recommend priorities and actions for growth and development of minority representation.
  • Create guidance for SIDP regarding representation and diversity throughout the organization. This includes but is not limited to education and programming, leadership, communication, awards, and membership.
  • Liaise with external organizations and represent SIDP when appropriate for the purposes of
      • Recruiting, mentoring, and communicating with other pharmacy organizations and pharmacy education/training programs
      • Working with other external organizations on issues related to diversity
